Salt Members of the Irish Breakfast Cereals Association (IBCA) have been reducing the salt levels in their products since 1998. A 30% reduction has been achieved to date.
The IBCA has been working closely with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) since the beginning of its salt reduction initiative and will continue to reduce levels where technically feasible and subject to consumer acceptance.Since 2003, salt levels have fallen by 11% in breakfast cereals This is part of a wider commitment to improve consumers’ health through the promotion of balanced diets and active lifestyles.
